I am proud to present what I believe to be the best 10 waterfalls in the state of Massachusetts! This list was created after having personally visited over 75 waterfalls in Massachusetts as the New England Waterfalls guidebook was written.

BASH BISH FALLS

MA	Bash Bish Falls State Park	Short Hike	located in the far southwest corner of Massachusetts, Bash Bish Falls is probably the finest waterfall in the state; while in the general area, drive to other trailheads to hike to Race Brook Falls and Campbell Falls

CAMPBELL FALLS

DOANE'S FALLS

MA	Doane's Falls Reservation	Short Hike	series of several waterfalls and cascades in the town of Royalston, which also offers several other good waterfalls (Spirit Falls and Royalston Falls); beautiful stone bridge above the topmost waterfall; a must-visit during fall foliage

GOLDMINE BROOK FALLS

MA	Chester-Blandford State Forest	Short Hike	scenic and usually uncrowded waterfall on an unofficial trail within the forest; short walk from a nearby highway parking area; combine with Slatestone Brook Falls, which is located in the same state forest.

MARCH CATARACT FALLS

RACE BROOK FALLS

ROYALSTON FALLS

MA	Royalston Falls Reservation	Hiking Trail	wild and scenic waterfall along the Tully Trail in the town of Royalston; also drive to and hike to nearby Doane's Falls and Spirit Falls while in the area; there is a first-come, first-served overnight shelter available for backpackers 0.3 mile above Royalston Falls

TANNERY FALLS

MA	Savoy Mountain State Forest	Hiking Trail	one of the finest waterfalls in New England, Tannery Falls can be a bit tough to find but is simply gorgeous in high water; due to Hurricane Irene, access is currently obtained by taking dirt roads from the south

TWIN CASCADES

MA	unknown	Hiking Trail	series of two adjacent tall chains of cascades; access via unofficial trail that is a bit sketchy in places (proceed with caution).

WAHCONAH FALLS

MA	Wahconah Falls State Park	Short Hike / Walk	it's an easy walk to scenic Wahconah Falls and some small cascades above the main falls; very popular in the summer; no swimming here, unfortunately
